CDM 2015? Consultations (and other news)

Have your say.

Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015? (CDM2015?); The Health and Safety Executive opened the CDM Regulation Consultation Process on 31 March 2014. It will run for 10 weeks.

The consultation seeks views on HSE’s proposal to replace the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2007 (CDM 2007) and withdraw the Approved Code of Practice. The ACoP would be replaced with a suite of tailored guidance aimed at particular sectors, in particular smaller projects. Two thirds or more of fatal injuries in construction occur on small sites.

The HSE proposes significant changes to the existing CDM Regulations which will affect all who work in construction but particularly Clients, Designers, CDM Co-ordinators, and Principal Contractors.

Since the last update, Danny Ballinger has been hard at work and now has virtually closed the land and legal issues for the Roscommon Way Extension project for Essex County Council.

Danny has also worked for Ringway Jacobs Limited and Essex Highways (EH) dealing with Essex County Council’s Local Highway Panel’s Scheme Validation Requests (SVR) in administering, undertaking the site visits, liaising with appropriate Officers of ECC & EH and producing a report for every SVR. Danny has undertaken over 300 SVR visits across the county of Essex during his recent commission.

A window of opportunity has arisen, and Danny is now looking for a company that can offer him a new, exciting project or may simply wish for some CDM advice.
